First change is at 600 miles and then I change every 1000 miles myself! 8) Unless it's on a trip then I let it go to 1500 miles but short rides I do 1000.
High RPM's, the fact that the bike uses a 'wet clutch' which means there is motor oil all around the clutch, transmission too. When you change the oil you are flushing the clutch and the tranny fluid as well. Plus oil is cheap and keeping your bike in tip top shape is important. Fram oil filters from wallyworld are 5 bucks for the 500R. Its great being able to buy all my stuff there.jetedawg said:what makes a bike so different than a car to need it so much sooner? the high rpms that the bike sees constantly? remember i was a car guy, just gettin into bikes. sorry if this is a retarded question.
Very good ! Yes, it is a contradiction.................just like me....................just like resurrecting a nine year old thread...................for absolutely no reason except because I can.?!?!?!?! Explain please. Sorry, I don't understand the end of the comment. Seems kinda contradictory.
Thank you ! I do believe you may be correct. I just love these old threads, they really bring back fond memories of a simpler time.........I wish they were in black and white........................This may hold the record for oldest resurrected thread. November 17, 2003 to January 27, 2012. Wow!
