I have had a 1993 Ninja ZX-11 for a couple months now. I have noticed the oil looks low at times in the window. For example, I have had it on centerstand for a couple days now and the oil level is just over a 1/4 high from the lower line. I just changed the oil a couple weeks ago so I know it should be to spec. Thanks in advance for insight on this.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I remember owning a Ninja 600R and for some reason the oil level always remained at the upper line of the window. The ZX-11 is different in that when I turn it over, the oil level ''drops'' out and from there appears low until I turn it off. Then it looks FULL while the oil level slowly rests towards the bottom line over the course of an hour..
Perhaps I'm just paranoid..But this seemed odd to me.[/i]

I check mine when it is cold and on the center stand. I put the oil level to the middle of the window. After I start it up, the oil disappears completely from the window. After I stop it and let the oil settle back down, it comes back to the middle of the window.

It sounds like you're doing everything right. I'll bet if you checked your oil level in the car while it's running, it would do the same thing.
