Sorry for the repeat post.

I don't see anywhere either in the manual or on the bike a oil screen?


Does the 900 Custom have one? I seem to remember someone earlier stating it did. I gone through 2 oil changes already so I want to be sure to clean it if it does have one.

It does. It lives behind a bolt on the left side of the crankcase just forward of the kickstand. I didn't find anything in mine and am not planning on cleaning it again for a few changes.

I talked to my dealer tech about that screen, it has a capacity to hold more junk then any normaly functioning engine will produce.

They do not pull it during routine oil changes but they do if they are looking for an engine problem as its contents can be a diagnostic tool.

When asked if i should pull it during my 600 mile service he said your choice.
