Hello to all. My name is Kevin and I'm new to this forum.

I've been riding for about thirty years. I've owned ten bikes: three Kawasakis, four Yamahas, two Suzukis, and one Honda.

My latest is a Suzuki Marauder 1600, but since it's really a Mean Streak 1600, I consider it a Kawi. It's only my second cruiser. I rode sportbikes and standards for years, but lately my 46 year old knees have decided they won't bend anymore, so there you go... This new bike seems to be a pretty good compromise, though. I like the handling, though at 1100 miles I've already ground the peg feelers down pretty good...

Anyway, I came here because I had a technical question, but I figured I might as well introduce myself while I was at it...

Welcome. I have a Suzuki Marauder 1600 too. I had a Vulcan 800A and traded in on the Kawazuki. Great bike and the same great Kawa build quality.

Thanks, all! Looking forward to posting here.

Shooter, I've posted a pic of the MeanMarauder (new nickname) in the "post a pic of your ride" section..

Welcome to the board, Kevin. I'm another old rider (just turned 50). I hear you about the knees. Mine are completely trashed. I ride a cruiser, too. :D

This is a great forum. Lots of very helpful people here.

As a motorcyclist you are always part of the brotherhood....We don't care what you ride....just ride!
Preach on, brother! I wave at everything from Vespas to ZX-10Rs to Road Kings, and everything in between... I have little use for those who would presume to tell me what I should be riding.

We all face the same hazards, from politicians to Buicks. We need to pull together, no matter what we ride.

Old ????????

I would like to extend my condolences to all the " OLD " riders. However, I have some envy of them. I am rapidly approaching my 80 th birthdate.
I have owned a number of bikes over a long number of years.
Mostly Motto Guzzi. We have had an Ambassador, an El Dorado and my favorite, a 1979 LAPD model Convert 1000. I also tried a Virago but was not too inthusiastic about it.
I presently have a KZ 1000 P 14 that I am converting to a trike. Yes, Yes, I know. Training wheels and all of that. However, if you have ridden one of these you will know that they are very stable at speed but can be very side heavy at stops. I just decided to give the old body a break. ( no pun intended )

^ Go, man, go! I aspire to be like you when I'm only 80...

My dad, while not a motorcyclist, just bought his first sports car in 40 years- a Nissan 350Z, complete with a six-speed manual. He's 76 years young. Old age ain't what it used to be!

(It did take him awhile to get used to it, after 40 years of Cadillacs, but now he's driving it like a pro... and way too fast, I might add...)

Whooo boy!

That means I still have 40 riding years left!! :D

Ride on and I'd like to see some pics of the KZ1000 trike when you get it done.
