I did a oil change, when I went to fill the oilit overflowed the valve cover, and some must have gotten in the intake through that rubber hose in the corner, will this damage the engine. it now runs with a pop pop as you race the engine like a sticky injector. is this just residue oil burning off?

Don't think the oil would cause a POP. Sounds more like you may be running too rich. Pull your plugs, if you have 'em (sorry not a diesal guy), and check for excessive wetness etc. Look at a manual and adjust accordiningly. Usually too much oil will cause excessive smoke from your exhaust. If this is the case, stop riding, and adjust your levels accordingly. It may day a little riding to burn off the smoke, but too much, usually under 5 miles.

It sounds to me that yu have a bent push rod or valve. This is due to the overfilling of the oil. I would recommend to do a leakdown test, compression test, and remove the valve cover to see if there are any bent pushrods.
