Wow.. What a awakening I got doing our riding course today and then getting tested for the SC license. We had 4 hours of classroom last night, and a full 9 hours of riding the course. I took the intermediate course that available here for $125, and get the SC license waiver if you pass. Not an easy course to take, but well worth it. You may think you know how to properly ride your bike, this course can and will open your eyes. I got a final score of 11 points taken off out of 25 .
Saw alot of bikes dropped, some more than once.. Be careful when riding slow, I think only 3 of us didn't lay the bike down (out of 10 in the class). Monday I go to the SC DMV to give them my permit and get the license.
Got the chance, take the MSF course, you'll be glad you did.

The MSF does make you realize what bad habits you have aquired over the past years.I hadn't ridden in quite a while, so I felt it necessary to start off right.
Don't worry about shifting gears gkHyde, after a few times things like that come natural. Just like anything else new, it takes alittle practice.

Yeh I keep thinking i'm going to mess up horribly at the class for some reason.. or annoy my teachers to death.. ><
You probably will mess up and annoy the instructors but that's their job. They aren't volunteers ya know, they get paid to do this. Make 'em earn their money.

Gratz on your success!! Sky's the limit now!!

Hyde, everybody riding a bike had to learn to shift...everybody!! Every instructer I've met does it because they love it & are very good. Relax! You're gonna enjoy it! In no time at all shifting will be a completely natural move you won't even think about!
