There are actually no bolts on mine, which is a 1975. There is one large nut, and the tank and petcock are threaded. The nut moves up/down those threads. Beware that the threads on the petcock are actually reversed.

As I said in an email yo you.....The o-ring kit was cheap, and it was very simple to do. I used a little grease. I also hit it with a wire wheel and it looks new. Mine was pretty bad - loaded with scale, gum, dirt, leaves, etc. I used carb/brake cleaner, compressed air, and some elbow grease and it's perfect. New ones are either not original, or they are lots of money!
