Why do you want a shift indicator light?

I rarely look at my tach and just go with the feel of the bike on shifts and listen to the engine.

Assuming the 6 has the same instrument setup as my 10, here's the details. The shift light has 3 modes: light on (dim), light on (bright), and light off. Of course you can manually set these different modes. The range that the shift light works under is from 9500 to 13000 RPMs. You can adjust the shift light point at 250 RPM increments. Factory default for the shift light is 11000 RPMs.
