A piece of road debris flipped up by my front tire put a small puncture in the upper radiator of my '97 ZX11D. The leak seems to be very small and I am wondering if it can be repaired or if a new radiator is the right way to go. I was advised not to use a sealant, but was wondering if a repair by a radiator shop could be made cost effectively and whether it would be wise.

If you remove the rad and take it to a rad repairers and its fixable then it will be a hell of a lot cheaper for you than replacing the rad with a new one.

If the leak is small then its possible for them to solder the part without stripping it right down. you can then coat it in high temp paint to look like new again.

hope this helps m8 as its the road I would go down if I had a leak (not me presonally mind but the bike)
