Hi all,
New member here.
I'm having a problem finding a lower toothed rear sprocket.
I have an XS650 in a 74 Pougho Kawasaki chopper frame rolling on Kawasaki Wheels. KZ 440. I believe.
I have an 18 tooth drive sprocket ordered to go up from the stock 17, and have already dropped to a 38 Tooth rear sprocket that we got from Z1, which apparently is manufactured by JT (JTR 488 series).
It's a 38T Steel Rear Sprocket for 530 chain. 6-bolt with 80mm center.. All searches for a lower toothed sprocket seem to lead back to JT. and the 38 is the lowest they offer.
Does anyone have a clue for me where I may find something with a smaller diameter (less teeth)?
Thanks a bunch,
Clay

If you know the year/model the rear wheel came from you could try calling Z1enterprises. I think they have a source for custom made 530 sprockets if you can't get what you want in a stock one. Maybe Jeff will drop by and answer before that.

I know Sprocket Specialist will make you a rear sprocket because I have a 37 tooth rear on my 79 750 twin that they made.
Downside is they are aluminum and not steel. But since steel rear sprockets are not available (and no rear sprockets over the counter at all) for my bike, I don't have much choice.

Lots of farm machinery stores sell a wide range of quality blank steel sprockets. A machinist will have to accurately locate the required holes, including drilling for weight reduction if you want.
