My husband and I bought a 2000 ninja 250 for our son just this past Christmas. It had 315 miles on it. He has taken it back to school with him in Prescott AZ. Now, he says that all the gas has run out of it while it was parked. My husband and I rode it during the month of Dec., a little and didn't notice any problems with the bike.

Here is the question: any reason for this motorcycle to leak just sitting there? What could be the solution? Did the kid operate it in some way to cause it to mess up like this?

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We found out this weekend the reason for the gas leak. He says there is a very small hole in the gas tank. Thanks for your replies, at least now he knows what to go get fixed. Or is it possible to do it yourself, like maybe from the inside?
