Hello, Need some help - please and thanks. I am helping a friend reinstall the original exhaust pipes on a 900 classic that now has Cobra exhaust pipes. Is it as simple as just replacing them or do I need to fiddle with any tuning settings and if it is the latter what do I need to do? I have no experience with this bike so please give me an answer for a novice. Thanks in advance.

Cobra recommends installing an Fi-2000 digital fuel processor when adding their exhaust system in order to tune your bike to the freer flow of their exhaust pipes. It stands to reason that if this was done, then the processor will need to be de-tuned when going back to stock pipes.

I would first find out if the Fi-2000 was installed and if so, call the folks at Cobra for help on de-tuning.

Here is a link showing what the Cobra Fi2000 Looks like. If there is one installed, probably will be under the tank area.
