It diffinetly sounds like you need friction plates, just replaced mine about 1.5 months ago and it was letting me drive at speeds ok but if I gave much throttle it would just spin up and not speed up. Replaced the friction plates at about $80.00 plus the oil and filter and problem fixed. It's an easy job took just a couple hours.

Jason, go to DennisKirk.com and check for your part not sure if yours is an an '87 like mine but they got the EBC brand friction discs for like $79.00.

I was going to replace the springs, but the owner of a shop I hang out at told me that I could get by with just changing the friction plates, worked for me, pulls good and hard again. They must have been slipping for a while because she feels alot quicker now than ever before. If you don't like waiting on orders from the internet, $80.00 seems to be the going rate even at the bike shops. Ya get the part usually within 48hrs and no shipping or looking for the brown van.

Yeah, good reminder zx-2r, soaking them is highly recomended. And Jason you will be very surprised on the power after driving on a slipping clutch for awhile.

Man you should have said that from the start, we could hava taken a collection and got you fixed fast to save you from that ever hapening.
LOL, let us know how it feels after ya get it back right, plus ya know you have to smoke a Katana now!
