when im going along at around 70mph and i ease off on the power the bike cuts out or becomes sluggish on throttle response. which i have to drop down a gear and hit the throttle until it picks up again,

has anyone got any ideas on what problems this could be?

cheers

What year/size/type of bike? Unfortunately we don't have crystal balls/tea leaves for diagnosis.

Could be fuel delivery, spark problem or a combination of both.
Check your battery cables for tightness, as a loose ground can cause this too.

Clean air filter? Sparkplugs properly gapped? Correct heat range? Sparkplugs tight? No crud in the carbs?Fuel fresh(not sitting around for a week or so?).

its 97/98 and its a 750cc its been street fightered. checked the battery, new plugs in it, clean air filter and clean carbs and always use at least once a week.

i think possibly it could be the fuel and air mixture and the bike has been street fighted so the air intake is the frame now, but not sure.
