S828 GENERAL BILL by Bennett
Motorcycles or Mopeds/Young Riders; Prohibits a person from operating a
motorcycle or moped while carrying a rider younger than 12 years of age,
etc. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2008.

I agree too! This people have nothing better to do. My 8yr old son loves getting on the bike with me to go for a spend arround the area.

And now they want to pass a law for dogs owners not to leach your dog in your back yard (something of that nature).

The sad thing is that there is plenty of good stuff that can be done but they focus on this kinda stuff.

Before you know we will have to migrate to a diff country were you can enjoy real freedom.

I agree the bill is over the top. Previously the only guidelines in Fl (to my knowledge) were the same as cages which leads to the question how do you safely put a child in a restraint system on a bike? Yet it is still legal to carry passengers unrestrained in the back of a pickup, however if they are inside the cab they must have a lap belt on...

Not in defense but I have seen lots of people riding with little kids (younger than 12) wearing helmets three sizes too large and legs to short for the feet to reach the passenger pegs.
