I have had to go through this 1998 Bayou 220. OIl line stopped to head. Had to replace cam, rockerarms, new rings. New clutchs, centrifical too. Reinstalled clutch starter. Turned over for a few seconds and engine. Then spins. Sheared the woodruff key. Replaced key, did it again. It is in neutral, clutchs are oiled up. What would shear them. Turn engine over by hand. Could it be the new ringd are tight.

If the flywheel is properly torqued down, there is NO WAY the key will shear..If the flywheel has been allowed to get loose and wobble around on its taper, then both the flywheel and crank are junk as they will NEVER fit together properly..
