My local store has an offer on Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40.
Bought 3 x 4 l. for my car.
It is rated Api SM, BUT it is also rated Jaso SG, not Jaso MA, only Jaso SG.
This oil is a group 5 synthetic with BMW longlife, Porsche approval, and it is in Ferrari cars from factory.
How about using this oil in my VN 2000?
I`m not trying to be cheap, but will only use the best for my bike.

Just get the Shell Rotella T6 5w40, it's JASO-MA.

This sounds like a question for Rich. lol Or one of the other resident oil experts. VN 2053 check your parts stores that handel oils for diesel's. If I'm not mistaken thats what the Rotella is made for.

It's called Rotella T. here. It may be something else where you are, or you may not even be able to find it there. It's marketed toward the truck industry, but is actually a heavy duty universal oil.
