I think it looks like some Monster knock-off. :|
Though they did get about 7 more HP and dropped about 50 pounds...
I guess I like the bigger brakes and the new header pipe routing, too.
I like the new....it's an evolutionary change and looks more muscular and aggressive to me. I like the pipes in the air too. But that's just my opinion.
I'd like to combine them a bit more. The airbox intakes are pretty neat, I like the headers, not sure on the exhaust.. but I like my frame and seat a heck of a lot more!
actually, i think it looks just like the yamaha FZ6 with the fairing removed unless i remember wrong.
only thing i see wrong with ducati's are the jungle jim they stick in the middle of the frame. i mean, is that for the gremlins to climb around in?
I just test drove a M695 today! The dealer and I were talking about the 696 and quite a bit about its availability is not yet known.
The 695 was great once I got up to speed but you have to be some kind of master of RPM's to launch that **** thing properly without lugging or popping a wheelie. OK I exagerrate but I had a bit of a hard time perfecting it. Several times I thought "I must be in 2nd gear"!
My throttle hand was cramping from not distributing my weight to my legs (on the tank) more than my arms. Once I got half way through 2nd gear and then on to 3rd and 4th...THAT was fun. But once I was back on my 900 I really appreciated the low end much more.
I am going to test ride a GT1000 sometime maybe next year and think about the 696... I understand the riding position is a little bit more upright.
Hey Optiato...how tall are you? You look like you fit on that thing pretty good...I'm 6'1.5" and I felt pretty cramped. And a lot of my height is in my torso.
