I'm 5'8" @ 200 lbs & feel like I'm on a huge moped with my 440. Inseam at 31". Feel like the bike is a little small for me, but I can't beat the price for now. My first bike was a 84 Shadow 750, 20 years ago.
1000cc to 1100 cc is more in my range, but will wait on that.

TO ALL>>>> This is a great thread...

the z1000 guys especially this really helps me see how the rider sits on these type bikes.

They look quite comfy compared to the GSX-R 750 that I have ridden once (that was quick but very un-comfy)

the trick for me now is to save up the money

thanks - great thread... I can do the same thing of my drifter, just got to find the time, im short and overweight according to national average 5'6" and 210

height : 5'11.5"

weight : 183 lb

bike : 2004 ninja 250r

standing straight up, i have about 1" before the crotch of my jeans hit the seat. but that depends on the jeans. the bike is not on the kickstand.

standing next to the bike. the bike is on the kickstand.

Hey guys. Im 6'4 and a bit overweight on an already large frame. (wear 38x30 jeans, does that mean I have a 30' inseam? I like pants that are a little loose in the crotch but still thats shorter than most poeple under 6 feet!) Would anyone be interested in me doing this with a 09 ninja 650? I may also be able to get a shorter lady friend for 'modeling' purposes. I would estimate her height at 5'5 or so.

what exactly is the purpose here of this thread....men comparing sizes. I thought that went out in the 90's
The purpose of this thread is so prospective bike owners can get an idea of how they would fit and look on a motorcycle given a picture of the bike and its owner with his/her measurements. It is stated in the first post I believe.

really? !
Wow! I haven't looked at this thread for ages!...

CCTX: Yeah, my first bike was an '03 500R which I could not only flat foot but, my knees actually had a little bend in them while I was waiting at stop lights. So when it was time to upgrade, I really wanted the Z1000 but didn't know if I could keep the bike upright because I thought that I really needed to have my feet flat on the ground. I was almost depressed to see that my heels were just off of the ground on the Z1000 when I sat on it for the first time. I actually decided to go with the 650R as a second/final bike because both of the power and the seat height issue

I was convinced by some fellow members here to get the Z1000 and I went for it (they said that I should be able to handle the power just fine and to not worry about my heels being slightly lifted). They were right, I would've been very disappointed if I would've gone with the 650R strictly from a power perspective--it's not a knock on the 650R. Turned out that with the extra height from the heel of the A-star boots that I later bought, I'm able to "flat foot" the Z1000.

And that's how I got the idea for this thread. I found out that not only is seat height a factor but bike width also. The ZX-14 is so wide on me that my heels are lifted even more than on the Z1000 even though they have comparable seat heights and I had to write-off the C-14 altogether. I've read theads where people have asked about fit so I thought that this would be a good start for people to look at how inseams/height fit with different bikes.

Care to post pics of you and your bike for us?
