Sliders and bags?

I own a 2001 500R. I am looking for frame sliders and a set of saddlebags and or a tank bag. Best I can tell the Chase Harper Stealth Bags are nice sized and look good too. As for Sliders I have seen pics but I have no exposed surface to attach them as a bolt on. Do you think it would be possible to add them as a clamp to the frame? Like a C clamp type thing? Or would it pop off on impact? Does anyone have them installed thru the bodywork? I'd like to see a pic. Thanks

I don't think a C clamp would do the job. Here is a web site of them on a 500R and you can buy it from them also. I don't know the specifics you asked for but this site might help some of your questions.

Not refering directly to a C clamp. More like a box that would draw shut with a bolt around the frame. the post could extend from there. Thanks on the sight info. They look wishy washy BUT the beat asphault racing stripes!

Sliders and Bags

As far as bags are concerned, I STRONGLY recommend you look at what Rev-Pack has to offer (revpack.com). I can personally testify that their stuff will outlast your bike. I posted something about them over on "what I learned today." I've had some of their stuff for over 20 years, and it still holds up.

if you are willing to drill holes in your frames you can buy some generic frame sliders from www.denniskirk.com or any other place that sells them and mount them whereever you'd like.

SLIDERS

If you are interested in making your own then do the back post like a clip-on...sort of what you were saying, perhaps rubberized conduit braces. BRG Racing advertizes them, and you might as beartooth our sponsor about aftermarket ones...they are pretty cool about things even if the factory doesn't carry them...

I had to drill holes in the bodywork of my friends 2002 CBR 600 to get the sliders to fit. It's not nearly as scary as it sounds. All you really need is a hole saw, and if you really want it to look clean a rubber or chrome ring of the same size(can probably find something that will work at a hardware store). A word of warning though - Measure twice(at the very least) and cut once.
