I live in northern Colorado. Today the temperature dropped 20 degrees from yesterday's temperature, and it's been raining all day. Now they say the rain might turn into snow tonight! More rain tomorrow. No clear weather until almost the weekend. If I didn't have my bike in the shop right now, I'd be totally bummed. The good thing about Colorado, though, is that interspersed with cold days in the winter are nice warm days when you don't need a jacket. I'm going to keep my bike road-ready throughout the winter for those kind of days.

West Coast baby...another beautiful day....80 and cooling off for the night.

Can't compete with that view of Bozeman though. Usually can't even see the hills unless it has rained cause of all the smog....

Got to have some tradeoffs for the 52 weeks of riding weather.

The funny thing about this post is that every year...and I mean every year that the temps in Phoenix drop under 90...someone gets snow... For the last 25 years that I have lived here in Phoenix I can remember this. And it usaully happens the same day... Too funny

SNOW

a very bad condition for road riding...even when it is melted it leaves behind salt sand, ash...things just not nice for an aluminum vehicle with two wheels...I'm looking forward to leaving KS and moving to s. AZ!

I'm still looking...

looking for a decent 250R. I have a prospective 1979 ZX600 but Even with tht I want a 250R for my main transportation around town..the 650 can fill in some longer miles for me...or I can use it to barter with when it comes time for a newer bike...

Summer finally came to Southern Ontario, a whole week of temperatures above 75°F.

At this rate I can go for a Christmas Day ride.

Yea, Monday moring it was 36 degrees in the morning. I opt'd to take the car instead of the bike for my 35 mile drive to work.

Yesterday morning, it was back to 54 degrees. Be my luck that I'll need to put the bike up for winter again by mid-October like laster year. Last year, I put the bike up, then not even a couple days later we got 3-4 inches of snow.

I can't wait to get out of New York and move to the Carolina's or Cali. New York just blows.

This is the first time since I moved here in 96 that there`s been this much snow this early. it`s been a strange year for weather all over the lower 48. Gonna be sunny an 75 fri. on thru the whole weekend an early next week. I`m definitely not ready for winter yet , but the good thing is that I've got a 16' cargo trailer so when I get depressed an tired of the weather I load up an head south for a vacation. How's New Mexico in Jan. or Feb. I've got a 4 day bussiness trip to plan , an I`ve been putting it off for just this reason . So I can have a reprieve from the snow .

Beautiful picture! I have some great views of the Rockies out my windows, too. :) Kind of makes up for the cold and snow.

Fortunately, we have warm days during the winter when I can ride. And tomorrow, the temperature is supposed to go back up to the mid-70s. Woo hoo!

i am probably one of the only ones that is extremely jealous of the amount of snow you see. been to west yellowstone twice on snowmobiling trips, nothing beats it, except being on a bike of course. unfortunately i am not quite far enough north to get enough to play with, just to make a mess. have to drive a few hours north just to hit the good stuff, or go to the local mountain and ski/board the fake stuff. love bike season, but can't wait to get back in the snow. guess that's why i live in new england, just wish it wasn't MA !!!

Ispeed77 If seeing the snow makes you jealous then telling you I lived in west yellowstone from 96 to 02 , probaly won't help, haha . That's when we moved up here from Kansas city, got hooked on sledding in about 94 an moved to west , snowmobiling from my front yard thru town and the mountains whenever you want was hard to beat , most of the folk's on here don't like the snow, but that's because they don't know how to have fun in it . Rideing sleds at 100 miles and hour on hard pack , with out having to worry about a ticket!! along with burying it under 4 ' of fresh powder with the snow coming over the windshield . **** now you got me pumped up for the winter. Still got a couple of months of bike riding to do, then I can think of snowmobiling. lol this probaly didn't help with your jealousy sorry . <BG>

no, you're not helping too much. i am supposed to be saving my money for our next house, but i can't get a sled out of my mind !!! you are probably one of the few on here that appreciates that the thrill on a sled can be just as exhilirating as that on a bike. and about not getting a ticket, never did, but came real close in yellowstone park. believe it or not a coyote came out in front of our group so we slowed. two corners later was a ranger on a sled with a radar gun ! i guess mother nature didn't have a problem with us doing 80 in a 40 or 45, don't remember the exact limit in the park. well, enjoy your snowcapped views, i on the other hand will have to close my eyes and remember.

So. AZ

I'm sure I hear Southern Arizona, and the Southern California Pacific coastline calling me...I know that as soon as I get something under me I'm going straight out ot exit 207, I-35, (Gardner, KS) and head south...when I get to I-10 I'll think about turning west...maybe I-8 somewhere down south...a just want warm sun on my back and to eventually see the Pacific Ocean with the sun sinking on it, Fish supper, glass of wine and the smell of the ocean through the screens...maybe if I'm close enough the sound of the surf all night long as well. Then the smell of the dry desert air as I rest in the desert, on my return trip to home...gee, it might be a long trip.....
