Joe, just now saw this. I'm so sorry about your friend. This is terrible. So much loss and pain for so many people this week. :-(

i just had supper with some of Deron's closest friends, and what an experience. hearing the stories about him brought tears and tons of laughter. one thing that came out of the conversations is that his friend and boss, Jeff and his wife Sharon are trying to put into words what they feel. they have so much they want to say to this group and are planning to make a post some time after tomorrow, when the services are. i just thought i would let everyone know that they are planning to post something.

here's a pic from our memorial supper this evening.
seated, left to right is myself, Norm and his wife Judy.
standing, left to right is Deron's good friend Don, Darrell (zedx11), Sharon and Jeff (owners of the Kawi shop he worked at), Glen (Bushpilot, Norm's brother), and Tanner who worked with Deron.

I'm very sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to all his family and friends, of which there seem to be hundreds.

When I was buying my C14, Deron helped me with advice and details about recalls. I bought my exhaust on his helpful recommendation. He seemed genuinely happy for the opportunity to lend a hand, and I wish there were more people like him. I wish I had met him in person.

Hey guys, don't know how to say this as as much as I want to make it to Deron's service I'm not going to be able to make it & it's really ripping me apart and hopefully you will understand.

Some of ya know I work for a ambulance service & today we ran on one of our own & a good friend who rides a Harley & was a Patriot Guard rider down in Mississippi.

He died in his sleep totally unexpectedly.

Tod will be going back to Mississippi for burial & his memorial service is Monday, so please understand how much it pains me to say I can't make Deron's service & instead will be taking part in a friend & co workers service instead.

Sorry Deron, hope ya understand brother:cry:
Hear that.
I trained guys for AMR and know the depth of feeling.
Kudos to you for the work you do, it's not easy.
Rear pegs down, flag at half.
Fellowship blessings for you, your friend and for Deron!

Great you could be there Dave to represent the rest of us. I'm sure Deron's friends and family appreciate your sacrifice.

I just got back from a business trip and this is the first I heard about this aweful news. Like many others here I never got a chance to meet Deron but was always interested in what he said and he always seemed like a great guy. All of you that have written about your personal meetings with him have confirmed that for me.... the world is certainly a little less for not having the man around any more... RIP man and my prayers for your family and friends.

well, Norm and i just got back to the house after being at the service and then spending time with a bunch of people that Deron knew. i can say this, the man that we knew is EXACTLY the man that he was. the stories told by his friends, the words written and said by friends and loved ones, and the showing at the funeral were enough to cement all my feelings for the man. his family and friends are very moved at how Deron reached out and touched so many of us, and it warms their hearts. he truelly was a one of a kind, and someone i will never forget, and that shows in EVERYONE that knew him. it has been my privilage to be here during this time to show his family what he meant to us, and they showed me how much he meant to them as well. there is just nothing else i can say to put my feelings to words, so i hope i have done well enough.

made it home a few minutes ago.

lots of rain and it was either raining really hard or I hit a little bit of hail.

don't think I can add anything to what David already said and I know I couldn't say it as well.

I do have some pictures and videos that I will get posted tomorrow.
