As Spok said, thank you David, Darrell, Norm and Glen for representing the forum, the pictures help bring home the memories that we will all cherish. We needed people like Deron to help bring joy and happiness to this sometimes troubled world, now his memories can help guide us through our everyday lives. Deron thanks for all you do.

I can't add any more to this thread than has already been said. I'm sorry that I'm just now hearing about this. I would have made every effort to get out there too.

Thanks for representing us, guys. We in this family only met him once, and truely loved him too. My youngest son remembers him from a single night and dinner with him. That's the kind of impression he left people with. I'm so sad right now, but at the same time, I know that he's in a better place. This is quite a comfort to me.

__/\__ RIP my friend.

David - even if they weren't you can easily have them made for dirt cheap. Look around on ebay or at a local vinyl lettering shop. I got one with a FF silhouette for a friend who died in the line of duty and it wasn't expensive at all.

I was going through some old pictures and stuff tonite and found an old memorial poem that I think is appropriate for Deron's passing. I have thought a lot about things I wish I would have said to him or that I should have kept in touch with him more, but I have so many great memories of him that I will always cherish. I will miss Deron every day (and so will many, many others) but it does help to know that he is in a great place now.

I'm Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
I’m with God now, I’ve been set free.
