i had the same problem with my ZRX before selling it. now that ive been thru school (MMI) and got to play with electrical on bikes i would say its one of two things.
1. starter button
2. starter solenoid

QKENUF4U I mostly agree with that. The fact that it is intermittent makes it more probable it is the starter. Be sure to check the connections too though. Could be a wiring problem.

thanks for the input guys, i don't know what it could be , because the last four times i have used the bike, it was starting on the first try, but yesterday was the first time it had ever not initiated the engine to turn over, i think it might be a loose connection. but i don't have much faith in my guesses

living in arizona is great, if youre going to asu then you could expect to live off campus for atleast 400 rent with a roomate for a decent location in a 2 bed apt. by yourself you could expect to pay atleast 650 rent. but there are crummier neighborhoods in mesa that you could live by yourself for 450.

i work down on central in phx a lot, this bike is weird because i haven't had the starter problem occur lately but I love to ride and every time i am about to start the bike i worry that it won't start, one of my blinker lights also got disengaged lately and i know its not the bulb and even the turn indicator light below the speedometer doesn't turn on when i turn on the opposite blinker, but that blinker works. help would be appreciated thanks man

It's a known problem with the P model 7R's. Mine does the same thing sometimes. All I do is pull in the clutch and slowly release it while holding in the starter button. Works every time. I'm still not sure exactly what the deal is, but I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the safety switches to keep you from riding around with your kickstand down. I have read tons of threads on different 7R message boards, and I have yet to see a difinitive answer. Good Luck.
