I'm back. Hadn't done much lately. My bike got backed into at work and cracked and bent my exhaust. Thought about repairing my set but I needed something new. I got a TIG welder and have been teaching myself. I have already welded a set of exhaust for a friend but I finally got around to it. Just have to metal finish the welds and paint.

Been getting some good practice on my TIG welder. Wanted a challenge so I got a 3.3 gallon Sporty tank out of the scrap bin at the local Harley shop and making it into a skinny Frisco tank.

Started by cutting the center out.

Then I section the middle to make the tank shorter. Had to section the front half then to compensate for the length taken out.

Did the other side today. Still have to section the front half.

Got the back half nearly completed.

Hope to finish up in a couple of days.

Glad to hear only your exhaust got messed up. The new pipes look great. Cool work on the tank.
Wish we had a dealer around here with a "scrap bin". Even if we did, they would charge out the wazoo for junked parts. You must have a connection......

alive and well, looks great. no clutch cable/lever = there must be a jockey shift there. Paint tank and fender is sooo Tuff

Thanks guys. Yeah Dave, I wanted to change up my bars. Ran some apes we bent up and then made these. My T bars were just mild steel and I want to get them chrome. These are polished stainless steel.
