I have a 1 year old 1600--great bike. Just have a question about starting the engine. After the fuel pump stops clicking, I push the starter button and the engine fires, then immediately slows down and occasionally stops. It's as though its starved for fuel after the first few revolutions. Usually it recovers and warms right up. Anybody got any experience with this or ideas?

hey there selkerton.. i have an 04 1600 classic. mine did the exact same thing when starting. i would have to thumb the starter, it would fire and run for a second then die or slow ..thumb starter again it would fire right up and go.. realized my idle speed was just to low. adjusted it and now it is great... fires with one hit of the button and runs great. took me several adjustments to get it where i thought it needed to be. no tach..ears and feel only. hope this helps.. happy riding :D
