1Adam12...RampRat...what about the purchase of the Special Black Paint we used in the Navy and the AirForce uses of things such as aircraft, IBS (Inflatable Boat Small), and special vehicles? Is anything like that available for purchase in the outside world? I mean painting my bike black would not hurt my feelings one bit if it meant that I would become somewhat stealth... Batman again...

I don't think its all about the paint. It also has alot to do with the shape. I've seen all the shows on Discovery, History and TLC...the angle of the reflecting edge the major factor in keeping the RADAR waves from getting back to the receiver. If that is you goal...

Agreed

Shape has a lot to do with the reflecting at different angles...but we used a special paint, that had some type of absorbsion in it to prevent a serious/obvious blip on a the screen. The Special Forces use it all of the time, and some of our aircraft in the Navy used it. I saw it used in the AirForce more but the active duty guys seemed ignorant about the paint. Some of our U2's have it as well. I guess that a full fairing with carbon fiber weave/matte over the plastic would be a start, but finishing if off with the paint would be icing on the cake. I guess I may have to research it myself, but I already know that we have had the paint for the past 15 years, an dit has to be better now than when it first came out...

The paint has some absorbtion, but the majority of it is the angles as said before. Take the F-22 and the vertical stabs. Thay are almost in line with the aircraft itself. The B-2 does not even have vertical stabs and they are known to not be seen on radar.
My question would be is the radar that they look for aircraft the same as radar used to tell if you are speeding on a scooter?
Good luck on your search and hope you get what you are looking for.

Radar

Some of the radar uses frequency and it can be assorbed and not returned echo...and the laser radar is bounded off of a windshield or something...measuring the time out and return...so the paint only reduces the signature not completely eliminates it...
There are radar jammers (freq) but if you are the only vehicle and the radar gets jammed in the patrol car..it has to be the bike and you can get into real trouble if you have one in some states..just like detectors in some states
