Still having this problem: My 06 Nomad won't start. It usually occurs in warmer weather. I turn on the ignition, wait till the display settles, and press the starter button. The starter cranks but the bike won't start, no matter what I do. Here's the hitch. If I turn off the ignition, then turn it back on, wait, then press the starter, the bike starts immediately. Any ideas?

+1 on the fuel controller. What I've heard is to hit the starter button before the display settles.

I'm running pretty much stock, so no fuel controller.

Do you have a CA-spec Nomad? Since it usually happens in warmer weather, that
came to mind. Is it during a stop on a ride or when you first start it up that day?

My CA-spec 1500 Classic FI will do that now and then so I have to turn the throttle
a 1/4 turn then start the bike.

Make sure your battery connections are tight and clean.

Mine is not a CA-spec Nomad. It usually happens after I've ridden the bike and then parked it in the sun. So the bike and the ambient temps are warm. I've checked that battery, and it seems ok. Also the bike turns over strong, it just won't start till I turn the ignition off and then back on.
