:?: Hi everyone, I have just found an old Kawasaki trail? bike on a farm and I need some help identifiying what model it is. It has no identification plate but the following VIN is stamped on the head stem F9F-15074.
It is a two-stroke single with 343cc stamped on the barrell. It has an up pipe to the left and drums all round. It has a rotary valve carb on the right of the motor and induction is drawn through the motor like on a KS125. In fact it looks similar to a 1974 KS125 but it has a huge motor.
What are your thoughts everyone???

Its OK It is a F9 350.

I have worked it out it is a F9 350 from 1972 to 1975. Who can tell me a bit about these bikes?
How many of these were made?
Are they considered collectable these days?
Are they raced today in vintage MX or enduros? Are they compeditive?

Thanks Tron and Heather

 Hi there Tron and Heather! Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message. I was wondering if anyone was out there.

Tron, thanks for your info on the f9. They are very rare in Australia. Of all things I am missing on the bike, would you believe I need a carb needle!
Do you or anyone else know where I can get one?

Hi Heather, I live in Western VIC. Why are you in the U.S now? Do you miss the lovely W.A weather?

I used to be in the US Navy. I was stationed at Naval Communications Station Harold E. Holt for 4 years....I DOOOOOOOOOOOO miss the great weather. And the peace and quiet of the outback. I would very much like to go there and see what it is like now. They have a major cyclone hit some years back that did some major damage.

Try looking for your parts on uneedapart.com

I was a Kawasaki dealer in Canada wayyyyyy back when f9s were new, and I raced one as a flat-tracker and ice racer. It was an incredibly good performer and reliable as heck. Dont know how the collectibility might rate, but it is a bike of which I have many fond memories. The real beauty of it was the rotary valve allowed asymetrical inlet timing, and a little judicious trimming could yield a LOT of power.

Good luck with it.

Alright did alot more research and I believe mine to be a 1973 Kawasaki 350 F9 (Bighorn) Sorry to waste your time. Just read below if you want to see how you sound when you didn't search before (stupid)

Have a good one, :)

Just Bringing this thread back instead of starting a new one!

I just bought a Kawasaki and at this point I'm not sure what it is exactly. I'll give you all the info I know about it and if you could help me out would be great!

Vin on the case starts with F5E
On the sticker up from it says 73 so I thought it to be a 1973
It says 350 on the oil tank
I looks just like a 74 model bighorn in ever aspect.

Heres the Sticker on the front of the bike.

Heres the '74 Bighorn off of Kawa Twin, is this my bike?

And heres some pictures of it, Hope they help identifying (sp?) it!
