Which service manual do you have Thomas? Manuals for older bikes often don't provide a lot of detail on routing of hoses or wires. I guess they assume whoever takes it apart will remember, or will make notes or take pictures. Manuals for newer bikes do a much better job of documenting where the hoses go.

I have a few suggestions:

1) Find your carb and fuel tank on an online parts reseller or try Kawasaki.com and study the diagrams there. Often there is enough information in those diagrams, to get things sorted out.

2) Look on youtube for how-to videos for doing carb work on your bike. Often you can get the info you need by freezing a certain shot as the gas tank and carbs get removed.

3) Try a different service manual.

4) Hope that someone here has the same bike and might share some of their photos.
