Heya, well I just bought a 1990 Kawasaki 600R. Every guage works fine except the tach. It works but doesn;t go over 2000 RPM's. Got any ideas why it would do this? And what to check?

Thanks,

Sam

Sounds like something is physically blocking the tach needle. You might just have to try and move it with your hand or take it apart. Usually when you fry your tach (like the 2 I've had fry on me) it shoots up to red line with a blip of the throttle or just doesn't move at all. Take it off and play with it a bit, it should still be salvageable.
