Hi guys,
My tires are in great condition both manufactured less than a year ago and are cruiser tires built to last over 10,000 miles if properly ridden and inflated, I just notice that they get a dusty/orange/rust color to them on the sides, is that a tell tale sign of anything?

Could I use some tire blackener as long as I didn't get anywhere near the tread just like on my car?

Does anyone else get this problem?

re

i use eagle 1 tire dressing on my bikes and never had a problem
just have to apply it carefully and keep it off the rotors

alright, I have some for my car already but know what can happen if it hits the front disk (pads in rear brake) or the tread. I put some on my front tires when i decided they needed to be replaced severely, anyways, that along with some pam made for some awesome tire smoking (fwd in case you were curious why the front?)

re

  yep-pam has more uses than most folks know

i just spray some on a foam wax pad and wipe the sidewalls down
nice and even and bam! i don't spray it near the bike at all
getting it on the tread ? prolly wear off pretty quick
get it on the rotors/pads ? bad idea-avoid all lubricants around brakes
friction goes bye-bye with siliconed brakes
