I have an 02 meany with D220 tires.
I am in the process of replacing my
second tire.
The first one started cupping at 3,000 miles.
The second one which was just mounted and
has 550 miles make a noise like a banshee over
45 mph.
That one is being replaced.
Is it just bad tires, or do I have a front fork problem/
Say wheel bearings?
Any thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks,
MOF

re

i'm assuming you kept a close eye on air pressure and they were
balanced :?:

bikeaholic is right, air pressure and balancing are a lot more critical on a bike than a car. I check my tire pressure before every ride. believe it or not 2lbs. of pressure makes a big difference on tire wear.

Tire noise

The other guys are right about tire pressure. I don't think tires shuld sing or hum or souund like raving banshees. A good tire will ware well and long if it the right one for your style. Do some research and find the maker of tire that suits you. Check on line for different stickiness and hardness. Maybe you are just hearing the rubber come off on the road, like money down the drain. I do not like Bridgestone but if you did a survey you would find as many different tires used as guys listing em, so talk and research is the way to save your tires and mone.
