All about the look
About the same. Remove factory air cleaner, install new backing plate/adaptor, re-connect hoses & sensor plug on back of plate, install filter and cover. Enjoy increased torque & throttle response.
Pretty much comes down to what style you like best.
I noticed when looking at the Thunder site, they have some extra styles that some of the aftermarket sites didn't carry. Most said they could get the intake you wanted if you had the part #.
There may be some performance difference based on how much area is actually open to take in air. Example being the BAK which is open all the way around, vs some of the Thunders which tend to be more enclosed. The more open designs have raised concerns from some about getting caught in a drenching rain. The BAK comes with a rain cover that looks like a black garter belt.
