So I got this long story to go with this big problem.

Bought my first bike from my friend about 1 month ago. 1995 Ninja ZX-6r. Have it for a few days, driving one day, park it, come back to turn it on, and nothin happens. Bike is in neutral, push ignition, and sometimes i would hear a click, and thats it. So I hang out for a bit, just going through the gears. Then I just push the bike in first gear and slowly let out clutch. Finally, after about 5 mins, the bike starts up. Drive home, and everything is fine. Sometimes the bike starts up just fine, sometimes, it does the same thing. However, the other day, I was riding, and I couldn't get my bike out of gear. It felt like I blew the transmission or something, the only gears I could feel it click into were 4th and 5th. Since I couldn't get it in Neutral, I couldn't get it started, So I started pushing it home while holding in the clutch the whole way. Every 10 or so steps, I would try and click it into neutral, and finally, about halfway home, I got it in neutral and started it right up. And this morning, I went to go start it just to see, and it worked just fine. Anyone have any idea on what is wrong???? Please let me know. Thanks!

Some bikes can be stubborn about shifting while sitting still. Next time try rocking the bike back and forth a little while applying light preassure to the shifter if it hangs up again. Don't force it though. You can try this without pulling the clutch also.
