I finished the repairs on the beast last Sunday and went on an 1,200 mile test ride last Tuesday through Friday.

Left Memphis Tuesday with a stop in Chattanooga, TN and Deals Gap, NC to ride the Dragon and other roads in North Carolina.

The bike runs like new.

I will post pix when I get time.

Good to hear you're on the road again. It must be bee-YOO-tee-ful in the higher country this time of year. Looks like I'm gonna miss all the colors up yonder yet again this year .

Last time I was in Europe, spoke with a German Kawi mec and he said most mechanics he knows there don't tension drive belt to
kawi specs, they go a little looser as they feel specs are too tight. Glad your on the road again Man and well done on doing it yourself.

its now 2023 and my 2008 with 37,000 miles just went down with this issue. It has 23,000 on it when I purchased it from the original owner 3 years ago, I must admit I have enjoyed using all avalable torque and some over the speed limit speeds on the interstate pretty often with it so maybe that contributed to mine.
