Try adjusting the pot settings on the Fi2000R fuel modual. I believe the factory settings are 4-2-0. However, I found out (at least on my bike) if the first setting is 2 or lower than the bike will tend to stall in first gear. I played around with the settings for a while and eventually ended up with 4-2-2. I had Cobra Slashdown pipes, Hypercharger and the Fi2000R. I could be wrong, but I think your fuel modual settings need to be adjusted and that should take care of the stalling problem.
Good Luck!

Captain,
First of all let me thank you for your great hypercharger install instructions. You made this upgrade very easy.

Second thing. I pretty much have the same setup as you did. I have the Cobra longsters, the FI2000 and the Hypercharger. That would make sense about adjusting the pots. I will try that when I get home.

Thank you again,

Bill:-D

VN900 Hypercharger Install Instructions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I installed a Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger with a Thunder Adapter the other week on my 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom. It's a fairly easy install and should take about 30 minutes to complete. I had the Kawasaki Dealer's Service Department check my work to make sure it was done correctly...and it was.

The Thunder Adapter for the VN900 is Part#40205A (This is a Hypercharger only adapter...please do not confuse it with the other Thunder Adapter for the VN900 (Part#20205B) which is for Thunder Air kits such as the Tornado, Hurricane, etc...
I installed the Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger Type-A, Part# KA-609421.

If you plan on installing a PCIII and/or new pipes along with the Hypercharger, then I would recommend that a Kawasaki Dealer do the work instead...since they'll have to properly map the PCIII to the Hypercharger and pipes.

Anyway, here are the Step-by-Step Hypercharger install instructions (10 photos)...Good Luck:

Installed the Debrix hyper-charger last night. This is the one without the butterflies using the Thunder Manufacturing Co. adapter. Followed the pictoral instructions posted in this forum and all went pretty smooth. Just one thing though, what idiot at Kawi put a phillips screw into a recessed area with loc-tite? All of the other fasteners in the air cleaner assembly are hex. Destroyed the phillips screw and part of the inner housing. Just passing this along.

I believe I use one of them between the hypercharger and the adapter. I cant remember which one, probably the thickest one. The other ones are just sitting in my spare parts box.

ok yea i did the same, i used 1 of 3 between the hyper charger and the adapter. I used the only one that would "fit" meaning the bolt pattern. other 2 are spares i take it.? So no gasket goes between the adapter and frame of the bike then?

I don't think so. I installed mine quite a while ago, but I don't remember putting anything inbetween the them.

Great pics and really helpful.. I got a bit confused at the end - couldnt see where to splice and attach the vaccum hose but at looking at the bike I realized theres only one line that size on the that side of the bike - still had L shaped connector left and two gaskets.
Thanks for your help

Vacuum Hose for Vulcan 900

Hi Pete,

Just one question about Step 9, where does that hose go too? I just want to make sure i'm taping into the right one. I'm not sure which one is the vacuum hose.

If you can help that will be great,

Thanks,
