Hi Pete,

Just one question about Step 9, where does that hose go too? I just want to make sure i'm taping into the right one. I'm not sure which one is the vacuum hose.

If you can help that will be great,

Thanks,
I don't want to mislead you, but I can only remember one hose being behind the air intake unit. I no longer have my 900, but I remember only one hose behind the unit. I cut the hose and installed the T-Fitting then attached the hose that came with the kit. I then attached the other end of the additional hose to the new air intake unit.

I hope this helps and you can finish your project.

Good luck.

Really like the looks of this mod & I'm excited about the described power increases that users are experiencing. My main question right now is, will the adapter:

Thunder Air Kit Adapter for Hypercharger - Vulcan 900

work for any of the Thunder Air Kit hyperchargers(standard, Pro Series, Pro-R)?

Another question is, has anyone had one of these powdercoated or is that just a stupid idea? I'm on a VN900 Custom SE & want to stay with the black theme, if powdercoating is an option I'd like to go with the Pro-R, if not I'll do the standard in black.

This is one of the most helpful forums hands down & I really appreciate you guys posting all this awesome info. I've gotten some great ideas and really helpful info.

I've had mine on for 2 summers now and love it,, only thing is my bike still has some really loud backfiring like as loud as a shotgun sometimes,, annoying. have adjusted the cobra controller allot and it’s the best as I can get I think without using a dyno, I'm getting 52 to 53 mpg with my pipes and the intake when I'm alone, and with my wife it's down around 50 which is still good.

Ok I got the hypercharger last week and I got it all the way put on except for when I got to the T valve. I didn't get the T valve with the hypercharger when I bought it so I called Kuryakyn about it. They sent me the part for free but correct me if I am wrong, but dosent a T valve shaped like a T? A T valve is so you can connect 3 differnet hoses together right, because that not what I got. It only has 2 ends.

Hi Capt..

Nice info and step by step guide how to install the hypercharger. BTW, i'm from Malaysia, where rainy season is a lot. Therefore, if i'm using the hypercharger during rainy season does it need to be covered with some sort of socks or whatever to prevent water from gushing into the air intake.

Please help...thanks.

Re: Repost of Captain's Hypercharger Install Instructions

I kept a copy of the Captain's install instructions. Here are the pics and original post.

VN900 Hypercharger Install Instructions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I installed a Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger with a Thunder Adapter the other week on my 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom. It's a fairly easy install and should take about 30 minutes to complete. I had the Kawasaki Dealer's Service Department check my work to make sure it was done correctly...and it was.

The Thunder Adapter for the VN900 is Part#40205A (This is a Hypercharger only adapter...please do not confuse it with the other Thunder Adapter for the VN900 (Part#20205B) which is for Thunder Air kits such as the Tornado, Hurricane, etc...
I installed the Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger Type-A, Part# KA-609421.

If you plan on installing a PCIII and/or new pipes along with the Hypercharger, then I would recommend that a Kawasaki Dealer do the work instead...since they'll have to properly map the PCIII to the Hypercharger and pipes.

Anyway, here are the Step-by-Step Hypercharger install instructions (10 photos)...Good Luck:

Yeah, aftermarket parts come and go, it can be a little frustration at times. Keep searching, I'm sure you can find something.
