What part of the world are you in?
around here in the rainy PNW, those bikes would fly out the door at those prices, (presuming good condition) especially when spring rolls around, but I think bikes are generally a bit higher priced here.

Seems a little high for the VN900. I picked up mine (2006 new, but left over in 2007) for $6300 with an extra 4 year warranty.

mst..... Don't know about the 900 but sure seems high to me. The 1600 is WAY OVER PRICED. Example: I bought my 2004 1600 Classic exactly 1 year ago for $5,500. It came with bags, windshield, Highway Bars, PCIII USB, 6025 miles and was in flawless condition. A co-work bought his fully loaded 2004 V2K for $7,000. In general, I find many buyers are very impatient. There are 1000's of late model, well equipped bikes out there at reasonably low prices. If you are willing to do your homework, you will find your dream bike for the right price.

Most 900 go out the door new for $6500 - $7000, although good hard bags aint cheap, so it's a wash.

Hang in there for a better deal.

cool thanks.. bringing this back up.

So now a dealer has couple bikes.

NEW
2007 vn900 classic black.. no miles wont budge lower than $6500

USED
Said he just got from used bike auction.. hrmm
2008 vn900 classic blue under 1k miles said 6500

Also when i was trying to get the 2007 for under $6k when I mentioned I could get the same bike in another state he said alot of time those are demo or auction bikes and acted like i should stay away from.. of course to buy his.

So whats the deal on all these auction bikes.

Here in AL my dealer has '08 900 Customs listed at $5800. Have not seen any Classics at that price. You should be able to find '07 Classics under $6K, may just a bit of searching.

Bump..

So for the question about auction bikes that dealers get. What is the deal withthe auction bikes.. What is wrong with them.

Dealer here keeps calling me about the couple used bikes they just got in with barely any miles.

Make sure it's got a clear title.
Some are repos that they can't sell as new, some are early trades (though these rarely go to auction, as the dealer can sell a new bike that's been traded), and some are insurance "totals".... Be VERY careful, the salvage title laws in some states are a little "light", and in some cases, a salvage vehicles is "legitimized" with a fraudulent VIN.

Flooding is a VERY common cause of salvage titles showing up at auctions and online sales in other states... but repos are going to become more and more common with the housing market no longer being friendly to 30 year financing of "toys".

man you guys can get some killer deals on bikes..... Bikes around here don't go that cheap here. They don't drop that much from new price for a used one... I bought a 2004 VN800 for $5400 little high yes... but it came with a bunch of extras and that was really all there was for used bikes around.
