30300A-MC - 3D Maltese Cross Teardrop Air Kit - Type A
I installed the above air cleaner on my 2004 Vulcan 800 Classic and also removed the fresh air setup. I put in the 175 main jet that came with the air cleaner and drilled the pilot jet to 50. The slide has been modified for easier movement and I am using the stock needle with 2 shims. The idle air screw is out 2 1/2 turns. When I tried to start it up after all the above was done, it would not run. With the choke open, it idles very fast, even with the idle adjustment all the way out. With the choke closed, it will not run at less than half throttle and pops very bad through the the carb. Where do I need to make adjustments and what needs to be changed?
