Hey guys, I need some input. I drove out to my local Kaw dealer, and he has a 2002 Nomad on the floor. Mint condition. Low miles. A few mods, including V&H pipes, Mustang seat with passenger and driver backrests.

I'm not real familiar with the differences between the Nomad and the Vulcan. He offered me a sweet deal. I could jump into this bike (two years newer than my Vulcan) for $300. I took a test drive and it's VERY nice. Not sure what to do. I've only had the Vulcan for a few months. But I tend to ride day trips, and lately take my wife out on weekends.

If anyone is familiar with the Nomad, and how it differs from the Vulcan, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

OK, OK, sorry, I realize the Nomad is dressed by default. My current bike has some of the items found on the Nomad. I'm wondering what other differences there are, if any. For example, suspension, performance, etc. A slightly newer bike for a small amount of money can seem attractive :)

I like the dual exhaust setup of the nomads. Wish I could get that for my vulcan

My 1500 Classic is fuel injected. And I really like my bike. The thought of getting a newer Nomad is attractive though. I'm going back Monday to take another look at it. My wife thinks I'm crazy! :)

Went for another ride, paying more attention to differences. The Nomad is not as nimble. And the injected Classic seems to have a more evenly distributed powerband. It also seems that the Nomad has more vibration. This may be due to mounts and/or balancers Kawasaki changed when going from carb to injection. The Nomad is a great bike, but I've chosen to stick with the Classic for now (and grab the Power Commander as soon as my pipes come in) :)
