Hi all,

I have decided to go back to the motorcycle world again. Looked at a lot of bikes from dual-purpose to sport-cruisers to street bikes. Ended up with my eyes set on a Kawasaki ZZR-600. Not too sporty (compared to a ZX-6R) and yet not "boring". In other words, juuuuusst riiiiiiight...

While shopping around however, I came across a brand new '02 ZX-6 at a dealer. As you all know it's the old name for the same bike. As I've never really come across a situation like this before (and owing to the fact that I'm not up-to-date regarding motorcycle pricing) I was wondering if anyone here could give me information as to how much I should bid (haggle) for this particular bike.

All input is greatly appreciated. I'm planning on getting one by next month.

Forgot to indicate that the dealer was originally asking $6,999 for it but said that they would knock off $1000 from it.

Thanks. Also found a site called nadaguides.com which gives it an average retail of $4780. I understand that this is pricing for used bikes. But at least I can gauge how much of a hit I would have to take once that bike gets out of the dealer's store and onto the street.

Just hope it's still there next month.

I'm really hot-to-trot excited to get that bike. However, I really have to wait til May so that I would have the funding for this "project".
