My name is Antonio, I'm from Spain and I bought a 800 Drifter 1999 with 8500 km imported from Germany.

The bike is Perferct, but has great speed, from first to third gear the bike is set to 120km / h, but on fourth and fifth gear does not exceed 140 km / h .

Here many bikes are limited, I have mounted a Vulcan 800 and ran as limited.

Do you know how I know if this limited? Any suggestions? Is it something to carburetor? Do you know if the German bikes are limited in any way?

Anything you can say I will be very happy.

Thank you very much and best regards.

The 800 has a rev limiter but I am not sure about a speed limiter. Hopefully, someone from Germany will chime in later. Also, none of the 800's will reach top speed in 5th gear; they simply don't have enough power.

Oh; Welcome to the forum.

Yes, in Germany many bike are limited.

Up to a certain age and riding experience you are only allowed to ride a bike with a certain amount of horsepower.
Many people buy a bigger bike and have it "Throttled" so that once they reach the correct age they can legally unthrottle it.

It is usually done by restricting the carburettor/FI and the exhaust.

I don't know the specifics.
If this is what you have, then most mechanics should be able to unthrottle it for you.
