Quick question:

If I'm storing my bike in underground parking, is it a bad idea to leave the battery in and go down once a week and run the bike for a few minutes rather than take the battery out and charge in everyon so often?

Hi Jemberlin

You can only disconnect the positive connection, and charge the battery one or two times during the winter at 2 amps whit an automatic charger. That's what i do.

before shutting your bike down, see your local napa auto parts for a can of sea foam deep creep... remove the air filter (airbox) with bike running at idle spray intocarb untill bike dies, turn off key, disconnect battery, and it's protected from rust in the cyl. the internals are all protected from rust, moisture, and it keeps all the seals soft and pliable. also look into Hydrotex products (essentialube) that's the green stuff that makes old farm equipment go after 10 + years of sitting.
