i have a 1998 1500 vulcan kawasaki with 70000 miles and from one day to another it stoped working. i have no spark to any spark plug. any ideas people . any help will be greatly appreciated . thanks in advance
Well Volcankaw, start with basics:
Assume all switches are functional and set correctly: ignition switch in 'on' position does provide voltage at output, engine stop switch is not turned off, gear not in neutral, battery voltage should be normal (about 12.5 volts or more at no load), sidestand switch is closed. If you have a vehicle down sensor, check that it is not open.
Check fuses to see if one is blown.
If not one of the above simpler things, could be a wire problem in one of the safety circuits, but I suspect that it could be one of those since the failure is from one day to the next as opposed to during a ride.
Do you have a service manual? There should be a trouble-shooting guide in there under the symptom you describe.
Good luck, if all else fails, see your local Kaw maintenance guy,
