I had the same exact thing happen to me about 5 or 6 years ago. Lucky for me I was in my cage. Stupid woman (not that all women are stupid, just this one) saying she wanted to go turn around back the way she came. Grrrr!
DARN!

Get her good when it comes to gettting the estimates and having everything replaced, labor and all...including your riding gear most importantly your retail price on your gear. We need to know if you are okay...or only a bruised ego. I hope that the LAW took pictures ofthe skid marks and you get everything back. I would further inflict pain on her by requesting that she attend a required "Safe Driving Class" offered through insurance companies or at least pointed out by insurance companies. I would also request taht she pay for you to go to Advanced Motorcycle Safety Class (Expensive???) because you have doubts or at least question what else could I have done? The Trauma involved with what else could I have done... let her also pay for a class which will further your riding abilities...don't be insulted or ashamed, or embarrassed! LET US KNOW!
well i hit her at somewhat of an agle i guess so my right leg got smashed between the bike and the car at like 30 mph. i then bounced off her like a ping pong ball in the other direction sliding and rolling like a rag doll that was dropped out a window. but the tough guy i am, haha, walked stood up immediately after i stopped sliding and picked my bike up which is F###ing heavy for poor little 135 lbs 17 yr old me. i picked it up no problem. threw my helmet on the ground and tryed to start it again. nothing. well i then proceeded to look at the lady "OH MY GOD" i thought when i saw this patch meaning she only had one eye. i was like great. then a cop pulled up. it was the first day since i bought my bike that i wasn't wearing my gloves, so i of course had to be taught a lesson and scraped my hand, i got a rug burn from the inside of my teknic jacket. and my leg got all scraped and bruised. and the back of my knee got another rug burn type thing from the seat as the bike proceeded and i did not. no major injuries. the lady will be paying for my chiropractor visits for a long time. she will be paying to fix or buy a new one of my bikes. she will be paying for a new helmet which has a couple scratches now, a new jacket, and they are gonna pay me for the work that i missed. also they presented me with a rental vehicle but when i was checking it out. they were like WHOA! you're only 17 so they couldn't give it to me. and i was like they hit a minor she needs to find out a way to provide me with a form of transportaion, so if anyone oh here knows anything i cando. any comments would be appreciated. anyway. this it the longest reply i've ever written on any forum so i'm gonna stop now. any other question and comments? also i was gonna get pictures but i didn't have a camera. i may go to the repair shop and take pics tomorrow.

oh and about the pics of skid marks. the skid mark was barely 4 feet long. this lady came out of no where fast. i saw her out of the corner of my eye and knew she wasn't gonna stop so i locked em up. but still not a big seen. she got sighted for improper look out. but she already accepted full liability for the wreck. so all i gotta do is start claimin. thanks for everybodys feedback. thanks

Man, that really sucks, Hope you get it all sorted out. Good Luck!

PROPER GEAR

PROPER GEAR would have helped...but the bike...darn...gee, a brand new 2004 ZX-6RR, new helmet, new jacket....depending upon the brand of helmet you may be able to send it in (send it in with your new helmet box) and see if they will check it for safety reasons. I did it with My Bell Helmet and theY completely replaced it! I was expecting a bill or at least a letter telling me "Sorry,..." but instead I received a new helmet with a letter of Thank you...I was floored! It's worth sending it in, if nothing else...especially if you have a new one. Happy to hear that you will be okay...at least as okay as you were before the accident...stay on line and keep us up to date...
Make sure you let her know it was BRAND FRIGGIN NEW! I've seen way to many crashes because of ignorant poeple who just don't look, and act like they own the road. I once saw a pair of riders die, They came threw a stop light at the speed limit (45) and they were on their way down the street when a pickup pulled out no more than 6 feet infront, I didn't even hear the tires sreach, Both were thrown from their bikes, one lost his helmet, they both landed on their head/neck areas, both died on the spot. That was a real reality check for me, As I want to ride when I come of age, But seeing these men die before my eyes...its one of those things you never forgot. I'm glad your safe brother, Hope nothing like this happens again.

Peter.
man that sucks bad, sorry kid but atleast you walked away
yes i will admit i am very lucky to have walked away with nothing but a scratch and a bruise. but i am still very mad about my bike.
