First up is to say hello to all. Though I don't ride a Kawasaki, this forum looks like a good place to be. I live in Wyoming and here we don't have a helmet requirment, that you have to wear one. I don't wear a helmet unless I go to another state that requires it and I believe that if you are older that 18, it should be up to the rider if they want to wear a helmet! there are too many people telling people what to do.

You're right. Helmet laws are wrong, you should have the choice.

You're also an idiot if you choose not to wear a helmet. Nothing you have is as important as your brain.

Welcome to the forum 1600star - glad you found us. As to the helmet law, well, I agree with you. Texas does have a little different law and it isn't too bad. Under 18 you have to have a helmet. Over 18 your choice, but if you choose not to wear one, you have to have extra insurance. The big complaint was that all the brain dead (yet still alive) bikers (ex-bikers?) should be responsible for their own medical care. That being said, how about some pics of your ride?

I agree there should be no helmet law. I also agree wearing a helmet is the smart decision. I will not flame any individual who doesn't wear one or think less of them. I haven't always worn one but one saved my life. Finally I certain will not judge or call someone names like "idiot" because they exercise their freedom to not wear a helmet.

There are times that I have seen others not wearing them that I've called them idiots. Like coming out of Myrtle Beach on hwy 9 in heavy traffic, doing 65 to 70 mph, two-up on a sport bike, and someone trys to cross the lane in front. the guy broke hard and swerved to miss the guy. I know it wasn't his fault, but he sure is taking his life (and his girlfriend's) in his hands by not wearing gear. That being said, I don't mind that it was their choice not to. But I still think he was an idiot!
