I thought the bike was too small for me. I thought I was some kind of blouse wearin', poodle walkin', long ride girly-man. Nope! I just needed to get rid of that pathetic stock seat.

I recently sat on a Volusia that had a Mustang seat.... seemed REALLY comfortable compared to the Nomad stock. So,,,,, does anyone out there have a Mustang on their Nomad??? What is the quality and comfort of the passenger part of the seat? Currently, my squeeze won't ride on the back if it's going to be more than a few miles. I suppose that could be a good or bad thing  (I'm considering it a bad thing at the moment... )

Opinions, please, on the Mustang seat.....

I have a Mustang Regal Touring seat on my Vulcan. The driver seat is amazing. Can go hundreds of miles without discomfort. My wife can vouch for the passenger seat. She is right there with me, and loves it. She wouldn't go more than 50 miles on the stock seat.

I have read all the posts, seen all the pics on the forum and when I get the extra cash, I am putting that same seat on my 1500

I had (still have) a Vulcan 800 with a Mustang seat. It's definitely a great seat and beats the crap out of the stocker. I recently, well in May, bought a 1600 classic. IMHO I actually like the stock seat on it better than the Mustang on the 800. The Mustang was a little too firm for me. It may have to do with the difference in bike size though. I'm 6'3". The 800 never felt cramped until I stepped up.

Just my $.02.

Mustang Seat

Like X-Wing, I have a Volusia with a Mustang Touring Seat. The stock seat felt comfortable in the showroom, but was a real tailbone burner after an hour of riding. The Mustang seat is good for a lot longer. Exactly how long I don't know because after riding for 2-3 hours I like to get off and walk around to stretch my legs (three previous knee surgeries). But after 3 hours, the seat is still comfortable and allows me to shift position to remain comfortable. In other words, my knees give out long before I even begin to get tired of the Mustang seat.

When I get my 1600 classic next year, the first mod I will make will be to replace the stock seat with a Mustang Two PieceTouring seat.

I have also been looking at the Mustang Regal touring seat for my Vulcan 800. I recently saw an ad for the Saddlemen travelcade gel seat-- anybody have ant experience with the gel seat? It sounds like it should be comfortable. Thanks for any input!
