Hello everyone,

Since inline 4 cylinder, low displacement engines are not put in motorcycles anymore I would like to purchase a zxr 400. The only problem I have with the motorcycle is the carburetors.
I've owned 2 carbureted motorcycles and always had trouble with the carbs.
So the plan is to buy ZX-R 400 if I can convert it to EFI.
Now the question is: does anyone know if this already has been done before? I couldn't find anything.

You'll probably have better luck finding a megasquirt or microsquirt DIY standalone EFI. But then you're going to have to fab up a fuel rail and an intake of some sorts that will allow injectors. That or go with a throttle body style, which brings on a whole other set of problems. OE used individual carbs and/or individual throttle bodies/injectors for good reason. A single feeding all 4 cylinders idles rougher and at low speeds does not like to run very well.

Quite frankly, to me, a set of carburetors is a LOT less headache in the long run. I'm going through this right now....
