Hi guys!
I just remove all trim, parts and wires from my bike. Now I need to remove the engine from frame. I removed all bolts, the motor is moving in the frame but I'm unable to get it down. Do it have to be removed by the top !? Or do I have to remove the top engine cover to be able to drop the motor ?

I don't know. From the diagrams at Partzilla, it appears that the 87 ZX1000 basically has a 3-part frame: the main frame, the rear frame & another sub-frame that seems like it would cradle the engine. So I wonder if you're supposed to unbolt the sub-frame.
